You can take advantage of a spring walk in the forest to collect chemaž.
Chemaž has many medicinal properties. It is considered a food that cleanses the digestive system and blood, and helps lower cholesterol.
You can make spreads, sauces, soup or enjoy it in a salad.
Here is the recipe for a great čemaž soup:
- a large bunch of cream cheese (approx. 250 g)
- 2 chayote or potatoes
- 1 medium-sized onion
- herbal salt
- grape seed oil
Chop the onion, peel and chop the chayote and wash the chives.
Fry the onion in the grapeseed oil until golden, add the chayote and fry it a little. Cover with water, add fennel leaves and herbal salt. Cook for 25 minutes until the chayote softens.
Put the soup with a stick blender and add nutmeg.
At the end, you can add cooking cream or sour cream.
